History
Since May 20, 1933, Turkish Airlines has grown from 5 planes and 30 employees to become the airline flying to the most countries in the world. With 87 years of success, we have overcome challenges and united people and cultures. Our fleet expanded, reaching 33 aircraft by 1951, and we achieved international recognition as members of IATA. Istanbul Yeşilköy Airport became a global hub in 1985. We embraced new eras, transitioning to jet-powered aircraft and crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Our capital and employee network grew, enabling us to serve millions of passengers and launch flights to America. We introduced online services, including our website and call center, enhancing customer convenience. Turkish Airlines continues to thrive and deliver exceptional travel experiences globally.
Philosophy
From Turkish Airlines, we believe every experience that is out of the ordinary teaches people something new and opens new horizons for them.
As the airline flying to more countries than any other, we invite people to explore the diversities in the World, to become more familiar with what the world generously offers, to seek the unknown and to widen their worlds.
