The port of Castellón today receives the cruise ship Amera, with 597 passengers of German nationality and 426 crew on board. Most of the tourists, a total of 360, have contracted some of the proposed excursions, such as Castelló, Vilafamés, Peñíscola, Benicàssim and Valencia. The Municipal Tourist Board has arranged 2 shuttle buses with capacity for 50 people throughout the day to facilitate visits to the city center.

The ship is 205 meters long, 32 wide and 7.2 meters deep and set sail on November 6 in Monaco.

The president of the Castellón Port Authority, Rafa Simó, has handed over the traditional metope to the master of the ship, Cap. Martin Ritting, as a souvenir of his call at the port of Castellón.

It is the second cruise that PortCastelló receives this year, after the `Bolette ‘, from Fred. Olsen Cruises, which called last September. As on that occasion, the Castellón Port Authority and the entities involved have followed the security and prevention measures to attend to cruise ships in times of pandemic. Among them, maintaining a safe distance, reducing people’s physical contact, and reinforcing cleaning and disinfection measures. In addition, a space has been provided to isolate and guard any suspected virus cases.
