The area around the Cruiseport has been greatly enhanced, featuring seaside footpaths, marine artefacts and an attractive and educational Maritime Museum in the ancient Dockyard.
Alanya has long been regarded as a role model in Turkey for disability accessibility. The first accessible beach in Turkey opened in 2013 on the Kleopatra Beach at Damlataş, near the accessible park and recreation centre. As a result of these efforts, Alanya became the first Associate Member in Turkey of the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT).
Alanya continues to work to increase accessibility to historical sites and other amenities, and to increase its accessible hotel accommodation. Other improvements include many new cycle lanes and better bus services.
