Bodrum Cruise Port, operated by Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, has officially commenced the 2025 cruise season with the arrival of the Astoria Grande. This year, the port is preparing for its busiest season yet, expecting to welcome 120 cruise calls and 158,500 passengers, setting a new record for both ship and passenger numbers.
A Season of Growth and New Arrivals
Aziz Güngör, Regional Director of East Med at Global Ports Holding, emphasized the growing appeal of Bodrum as a cruise destination, stating, “This year, we are proud to host 14 cruise ships making their first-ever call to Bodrum, a testament to our increasing recognition on the international stage.”
The season began with the Palau-flagged Astoria Grande, which arrived from Amasra on April 3rd with 756 passengers and 432 crew members before continuing its voyage to Marmaris. The vessel is scheduled to visit Bodrum two more times in 2025.
Luxury cruise lines such as Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Emerald Cruises, Silversea Cruises, and MSC Explora Journeys have also included Bodrum in their itineraries this year. The season will extend until mid-November, featuring 13 calls by Aroya Cruises’ Aroya, 13 calls by Marella Discovery 2 of Marella Cruises, and 11 calls by Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady.
Bodrum Cruise Port: A Hub for Social Responsibility and Maritime Education
In addition to handling an increasing number of cruise ships and passengers, Bodrum Cruise Port remains dedicated to social responsibility initiatives. Collaborating with visiting cruise lines, the port organizes maritime education programs for students, raising awareness about the cruise industry and the importance of ocean conservation.
“While we continue to provide exceptional service to our cruise partners and passengers, we also prioritize engaging with the local community through educational initiatives,” added Güngör. “With the record-breaking season ahead, we look forward to further strengthening Bodrum’s position as a premier cruise destination while fostering awareness of maritime sustainability.”
