Burgas port completed the reconstruction of the oldest indoor port warehouse “Magazia 1” which transformed in a maritime museum and cultural center with functionality for a second passenger terminal. The depth of the terminal is 8,20m. Exhibition, entertainment and educational areas are among the facilities.
Constructed in 1903 by the engineer Adolf Gerard – director of the Port of Marseille and port facilities designer- the building of “Magazia 1” is one of the oldest buildings in the port of Burgas. The applied technology is the same as of the Eiffel Tower.
The reconstruction of the “Magazia 1” came along with the improvement and landscaping of the adjoining and berthing area, with new transport scheme, parking lots, bike lanes and green spaces.
The whole complex is an attraction for tourists and visitors of the Port of Burgas.
Port of Burgas has also under construction the Congress Center, where in 2020 it is planned to take place the MedCruise General Assembly.
