Cruise tο Barcelona !
The Port of Barcelona is the leading cruise port in Europe, the Mediterranean turnaround port par excellence and the fourth largest cruise homeport in the world.
Figures are important, but our goal is to consolidate and maintain the highest levels of quality and efficiency in services and infrastructures.
The Port of Barcelona works with local and international stakeholders of the cruise industry. Creuers del Port de Barcelona, the private concessionaire managing the public cruise terminals, is constantly improving their equipment and investing in new facilities.
On the international scene, it is important to mention the commitment of the Port of Barcelona with the cruise companies. The Carnival Group is building their second terminal in our port (Terminal E), the fifth cruise terminal in the Adossat Quay, and it will be ready in 2018.
The Barcelona Tourism Board, Catalonia Tourism and the Airport of Barcelona are some of our most valuable local partners. Our collaboration and cooperation with them is a relevant part of our success, as has been shown in the conclusions of the Economic Report of the Cruise Activity in Barcelona, a document done in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Barcelona Tourism Board based on the figures of the year 2014, which shows the impact of the cruise activity in the economy of our city and region (796 Million Euro of Total Billing and more than 6,700 jobs per year in the city of Barcelona).
These facts have been fully satisfying for the city of Barcelona and for our port, but we always keep the focus in our region, the Mediterranean as a whole. A cruise itinerary is a chain composed by different destinations and we work the aim of achieve the success of the region.
