With a dedicated stand at the disposal of its members and associated members, MedCruise organised more than 60 meetings and held several presentations. During the Traditional Trends in the Med session, President Figen Ayan updated the industry with the latest statistics, confirming the Med as the second largest region in the world for cruise traffic.

MedCruise, the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports, participated in the very successful Seatrade Cruise Global in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 27th to 30th March. The Association had its own stand at the exhibition, where over 60 meetings were held between members and the industry.

During the event the President of MedCruise, Figen Ayan, took part in a discussion panel entitled Sustainability and Regulation. Ms Ayan also delivered the keynote Trends in the Med presentation, always highly valued as it gives an annual overview of the second most visited region of the industry.

As part of the highlights of STC Global, Cristina De Gregori, PR, Communication & Marketing Director for MedCruise represented the Association on a panel called Marketing your Destination and Valeria Mangiarotti, Technical Environmental Solutions Director, took part on a panel entitled Net Zero or Net Hero.

The 162nd meeting of the Board of Directors of MedCruise was also held on Monday 27th March.

Figen Ayan, President of MedCruise said, “I am delighted that the Association was once again present at such a prestigious event. We must congratulate Mary Bond and her team for organising such a great exhibition. It is indeed encouraging to see how the industry is progressing and how MedCruise has helped in making this a reality. We continue to be dedicated to the importance of sustainability in our industry, to pursue the importance of training and skills and helping our members to be able to market their destinations. During my Trends in the Med presentation, we were able to see how the industry is growing once again and how the Association’s activities have increased. I’m particularly proud of the partnerships that we are creating with international institutions and organisations, in order to help MedCruise grow in stature and deliver more experience and resources to our members. In particular I would like to emphasise our activities with the EU and our activity with the BlueMission Med project.  http://www.bluemed-initiative.eu I am very pleased that we have enhanced our dialogue with the EU and that the Association can benefit from these conversations. I am grateful to our hard-working Board of Directors and members of our Secretariat for the support given to me and our members, as we continue to strive for excellence. We now look forward to our General Assembly, to be hosted by the Port of Corfu from 23rd to 26th of May, where once again we will bring together key players in this dynamic and exciting industry.”
