One of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships in the world, “Ovation of the Seas”, sailed into the port of Piraeus and was welcomed by the PPA Management, along with the Secretary General of Greek National Tourism Organisation Mr. Dimitris Trifonopoulos, the representative of Royal Caribbean in Greece Mr. Andreas Stylianopoulos, the Shipping Company’s Agent Mr. Michalis Nomikos and other stakeholders – including MedCruise Secretariat representatives.
PPA General Manager Mr. Stavros Hatzakos handed to Cpt. Henrik Loy the traditional honorary plaque, highlighting that the Port of Piraeus stands as the largest cruise port in the eastern Med, providing modern, safe and state-of-the-art port infrastructure. He concluded stating that the Port of Piraeus can accommodate all types of modern cruise vessels and provide quality services in accordance with international ISO standards, as recently re-certified by Lloyd’s.
