The Port of Lisbon has been awarded the title of Best Atlantic Port in Europe at the third edition of the Cruceroadicto Awards, a prestigious international recognition organized by Cruceroadicto and voted exclusively by cruise passengers. The winners were announced at Fitur Cruises, a section dedicated to the cruise tourism sector, during the international FITUR Madrid 2025 fair.
The Port of Lisbon stood out among the finalists for the Best Atlantic Port in Europe category, which also included the ports of Reykjavik (Iceland) and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain). The voting, which closed on January 1, 2025, involved travellers who had embarked on cruises in recent months.
This award marks a significant milestone for the Port of Lisbon, which had ranked third in the same category in 2023, behind Las Palmas Gran Canaria and La Coruña. This year’s victory solidifies Lisbon as a leading destination in the sector and strengthens its commitment to providing an excellent experience for all tourists who choose the Portuguese capital as a port of call, departure, or arrival.
Carlos Correia, President of Port of Lisbon Authority, enthusiastically commented on the achievement: “We are immensely proud and pleased to receive the title of Best Atlantic Port in Europe from the Cruceroadicto Awards. This recognition is even more special because it comes from the direct vote of cruise passengers, who are undoubtedly the best judges of the experience we provide. The fact that we have been chosen by the very tourists who pass through our port strengthens the trust they have in us, not only due to our excellent infrastructure but also for our hospitality, safety, and constant efforts to improve every detail of their experience. This award is a testament to the collective work of all our professionals and partners who make the Lisbon a unique destination in the Atlantic.”
Port of Lisbon Authority reaffirms its commitment to the sustainability of the cruises that call at Lisbon. This distinction is, above all, a tribute to the tireless work of all the teams involved and to the welcoming spirit that characterizes Portugal and its capital as a preferred destination in the Atlantic.
