On 1st November, the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife proudly welcomed the magnificent Mein Schiff 7 from TUI Cruises on its inaugural call. This impressive cruise ship stands as a beacon of innovation and sustainability at sea. Delivered in 2024, Mein Schiff 7 operates on low-emission marine diesel and is prepared for future methanol use, aiming to significantly reduce its carbon footprint.
The plaque exchange ceremony, held on the Bridge and hosted by Greek Captain Georgio Di Mou and his crew, featured the Port Authority’s Commercial and Business Development Manager, Luz Marina Espiau, presenting a commemorative plaque to honour this first call. Attendees included First Officer, Chief Purser, Ship Agent Mrs. Davinia, and Mónica Jarque from the Port Authority’s Commercial Department, as shown in the photos.
The Port Authority also had the opportunity to tour Mein Schiff 7’s elegant facilities, which include diverse dining options, a smoke-free casino, and a 25-metre pool, ideal for relaxation on the open sea. Gratitude was expressed to Captain Di Mou and his crew for their warm hospitality, and to Hamilton, the ship agency, for their seamless coordination.
