The Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife celebrated the presentation of the metope to the cruise ships National Geographic Endurance, Viking Sky and Celebrity Ascent on their first calls, consigned by Miller y Cía, S.A.- Boluda Corp. Marítima, Pérez y Cía. and Hamilton y Cía. respectively.
The presentation of the corresponding metope to the scientific vessel, icebreaker category, “National Geographic Endurance“, was attended by Captain Herr Oliver Kriess, of German nationality and Ms. Luz Marina Espiau, Commercial & Business Development Manager, on behalf of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Also present were Ms. Elisa Zamora, Business Development Manager; Mr. José Antonio Beltrán, Operations Manager of Miller y Cía. and Ms. Monica Jarque from the Commercial Department of the Port Authority.
The stunning ship of the American shipping company Celebrity Cruise Line “Celebrity Ascent“, with a maximum capacity of 3260 passengers, arrived at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with 3110 passengers in transit and 1391 crew members. The presentation of the metope to the Captain Mr. Anastasios Kafetzis was attended by Mr. Guillermo De Ponte Machado, Branch Manager of Hamilton y Cía., S.A., and two representatives of the American shipping company, who, on behalf of the Captain, exchanged metopes at this first call; on behalf of the Port Authority of SCT, Ms. Luz Marina Espiau, Head of the Commercial and Business Development Division, attended the ceremony.
Finally, the presentation of the metope to the Captain of the ship ‘Viking Sky’ was attended on behalf of the consignee Pérez y Cía. by Ms. Marta Alonso, Head of Cruises and Mr. Gabriel Cabrera, Director of the Consignataria in Tenerife; and on behalf of the Port Authority, Mr. Miguel Angel Bonnet Hodgson, responsible for the Commercial Departmenthe, was the one who delivered the metope to the Captain of the cruise ship.
