On Sunday May 7 the Port of Tarragona’s Balears Wharf received three cruise ships simultaneously for the second time. They were MSC Cruises’ MSC Magnifica, Costa Cruise Lines’ Costa Firenze and Atlas Ocean Voyages’ World Navigator. All three arrived in Tarragona waters between 7 and 9 am and set sail that same evening between 6 and 7 pm for different destinations. This was the first time a ship from Atlas Ocean Voyages has called at Tarragona, whereas the other two lines – MSC Cruises and Costa– have previously visited Port Tarragona, although the two vessels that docked on Sunday were here for the first time. Passengers arriving in Tarragona were distributed among several guided tours around the region to avoid concentrations in a single destination. The Director of the Tarragona Port Business Department, Genoveva Climent, took part in the ceremony to present a metope to the vessel captains, a custom designed to welcome cruise ship crews docking at Port Tarragona for the first time.
