The Port expects to host 55 cruise ships and 98,000 passengers during this season that began on April 6 and will end in mid-December
The Port is committed to establishing cruise tourism in line with today’s environmental policies
It is fostering the electrification of the Balears Wharf and the construction of a new terminal based on sustainable criteria
At approximately 8 am on Thursday 6 April, the Port inaugurated the 2023 Tarragona cruise season with the arrival of the first liner. The Silver Moon, belonging to Silversea Cruises, part of the Royal Caribbean Group, docked at the port’s Balears Wharf. It is the first time this cruise ship has visited the city of Tarragona. It arrived from Palma de Mallorca en route to Barcelona. With a capacity of 596 passengers, it is part of the tradition of small, intimate luxury cruise ships. The Port organised a welcome ceremony in which the TPA’s Port Operations Director, Núria Obiols, presented a commemorative plaque to the ship’s captain.
