The Director of Corporate Communications of Thessaloniki Port Authority (ThPA) and its representative on the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organisation (TTO), Mrs Theodora Riga, presented Thessaloniki as an ideal cruise destination at the 60th General Assembly of MedCruise (Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports), held in Costa Brava, Spain from 23-27 May.
The event was attended by representatives from 145 Mediterranean ports, 22 cruise company executives from 18 different cruise lines and 11 international media. The attendees had the opportunity to enjoy the beauties of Thessaloniki, through the impressive audiovisual material of the TTO., specially designed for the cruises which was shown during the presentation.
Considering the increased number of cruise ship calls, expected to exceed 60 in 2022, Thessaloniki plays an important role in the city’s international image for the cruise market.
“The participation of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization in cooperation with ThPA in important international events, such as the recent Seatrade Cruise Global exhibition in the USA and the efficient cooperation between the two entities highlight Thessaloniki and the wider region of Macedonia with added value not only for travellers but also for the whole society” said the Vice-Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki and President of Ms. Voula Patoulidou.
