ThPA S.A.: Security Inspection held at the Port of Thessaloniki

A Delegation of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) conducted an inspection at ThPA S.A. from February 18 to February 21, 2025, on the implementation of security measures and procedures at the Port of Thessaloniki, in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).

The nine-member Delegation, consisting of highly trained on the security issues of port facilities and ports European Inspectors, in the presence of the Director and executives of the competent Directorate of Ship and Port Facilities Security Management (DEDAPLE) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, conducted a thorough inspection of the equipment and the security measures and procedures applied at the Port Facility and the wider area of the Commercial Port of Thessaloniki.

The inspection results presented by the head of the Inspection Delegation were deemed quite satisfactory and revealed that ThPA S.A. applies best practices at the European level, having greatly adapted to the security requirements thanks to its highly qualified security personnel, along with the high-level central administrative support of the competent Directorate (DEDAPLE) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy.

“The results of the security inspection are a proof of the continuous and practical efforts of ThPA S.A. to ensure the exemplary operation of the Port of Thessaloniki at an international level, in terms of providing quality port services of high levels of safety & security”, stated the CEO of ThPA S.A., Dr. Ioannis Tsaras.
