Cristina De Gregori earned her degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Genoa, enhancing her expertise through study programs and specialisation courses at the University of Valencia and the University of Lisbon. After obtaining a certification in Communication and Negotiation Skills, she began her career in 2001 in the PR and Promotion department of the Port Authority of Savona, located in Northwestern Italy, where she developed extensive expertise in the cruise industry.

Following the approval of the Italian Port Reform bill in 2016, Cristina took on a key role in the Communication and Marketing division of the Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority, which oversees four ports: Vado Ligure, Savona, Pra’, and Genoa. This port network is Italy’s largest, the country’s second-largest cruise hub, and the fourth in the Mediterranean.

In 2024, Cristina further advanced her professional development by obtaining an MBA from the Bologna Business School. That same year, she was re-elected for the third time to the Board of Directors of the MedCruise Association, where she presently is in charge of  Brand, Strategic Communications & Marketing. She is passionately committed to analysing trends, addressing challenges, and driving sustainability in the maritime and cruise sectors through innovative strategies and best practices.

“Since the early years of its establishment, the driving force behind the success of MedCruise has undoubtedly been its firm commitment to working as a team to achieve common goals in the promotion and marketing of the cruise services offered by the Mediterranean ports. Over time, the association has extended its scope towards adjoining seas and today groups together 140 ports with a wide variety of diverse characteristics. Capitalising upon their invaluable experience and professionalism and bolstered by state-of-the-art infrastructure, the MedCruise ports have shown that they quickly adapt to changes underway. Still, they also continue to thrive upon a historical and artistic legacy which, allied to the beauty of the landscape and a vast selection of gastronomic delights, offers passengers a unique experience. In the aftermath of the global pandemic, the Mediterranean cruise industry was the first worldwide to resume operations in 2020, introducing dedicated health and safety protocols. At this stage, the MedCruise deal is now to adapt swiftly to the new means of communication and continue its commitment to intensive use of social and digital media in an ever-increasing sustainable world.”
