MedCruise Board of Directors Member
Angelos F. Vlachos is an experienced executive with a wealth of expertise in leadership, business development, and policy analysis across the maritime and tourism sectors. Since January 2023, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kavala PortAuthority, after being a member of its Board of Directors since October 2021. Vlachos has played key roles in several prominent port organisations, including the Port Authority of Alexandroupolis and Thessaloniki Port Authority, where he contributed to strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
In September 2024, Vlachos expanded his impact in the cruise industry by becoming the Associate Membership Director at MedCruise.
Throughout his career, Vlachos has held various leadership positions, including Director of the Greek National Tourism Organisation’s China Offices and Consultant to theMinistry of Tourism in Greece. His academic background includes teaching roles at Panteion University and the University of Peloponnese, as well as significant involvement in research projects.
Vlachos holds a Ph.D. in the history of tourism from the University of Athens, a Master’s in Contemporary European History from the University of Sussex, and a Bachelor’s inHistory & Archaeology from the University of Athens. With his broad expertise, Vlachos continues to contribute to the growth and development of both the maritime and tourism sectors, focusing on leadership, policy analysis and operational excellence
