REGULAR MEMBER​

Regular members of this Association shall consist of public and government departments, boards, commissions, agencies, authorities and organisations and other bodies, whether public or private and whether incorporated or unincorporated which, in the general interest, exercise powers, jurisdiction or authority or are charged with duties with respect to the planning, development and operation of ports, provided that such ports shall offer adequate facilities for the safe handling of passenger ships, in accordance with criteria established by the General Assembly.

Procedure to become a Regular Member

In accordance with the MedCruise bye-laws, Chapter II Article 4.1, the procedure to become a Regular member shall be as follows:

  1. Applications for membership shall be submitted to the Secretary General – Mr. Nicholas Guerrero; secretariat@medcruise.com
  2. The Secretary General shall review if the applicant meets the requirements and shall produce a report to be presented to the Board of Directors
  3. All applications shall be considered and subsequently approved or rejected by the Board of Directors.
  4. The Members of the Association shall take the final decision on applications at a General Assembly of MedCruise, currently held twice a year. *
  5. After approval by the General Assembly, the applicant will become a Regular member from the date when the Association receives payment of the Regular member’s fees:
  • The Admission Fee is € 10,000 (2025).
    • Any Regular member applicant must pay a deposit to the Association of half the Admission Fee (€ 5,000), before the General Assembly at which its membership is to be voted.
    • The balance of the full Admission Fee (€ 5,000), is due as soon as the Regular member has been accepted by the General Assembly and must be paid within a period of one month after the date of the General Assembly.
  • The Annual Fee is € 6,000 (2025). On becoming a Regular the new member shall pay a proportional part of the Annual Fee, as decided by the Board of Directors as soon as membership has been accepted by the General Assembly.

* After your membership application has been approved by the Board of Directors, it will be moved to the next step of the constitutional procedure, which is the official approval in the next General Assembly to take place in Spring and Autumn every year, where new members will be invited as observers and will be given the opportunity to present their port to the Association.

Until official approval of the membership is granted, potential members will have the chance to enjoy some of the benefits of MedCruise membership. For example receiving all information updates by email, access to reports, participating in the online Morning Coffee sessions, webinars and online sessions.
Following the approval of membership new members will enjoy the full benefits of membership, such as access to the MedCruise Online Community, participation in the B2B meetings during MedCruise General Assemblies, using the MedCruise stand at Seatrade events (where members can organise events and hold B2B meetings), participation in the Professional Development Courses and many others.
